KBS Sealant is a trowelable halogen-free putty to be used as a joint filler and sealer for KBS penetration seals (KBS Panel Seal) and fire separating walls. It is ideal for a toxic gas, hot and cold smoke seal. KBS Sealant can be used internally and externally. KBS Sealant consists of water-based thermoplastic resins, inorganic incombustible fibres, fillers, pigments and flame retardant chemicals. KBS Sealant is free of solvents. 

KBS Sealant can be used for plastic pipes, single electrical cables and cable bundles up to 65mm diameter, but only as a toxic gas, hot and cold smoke seal. It is NOT a fire-rated sealant.

KBS Sealant can be used for wall and ceiling penetrations. KBS Sealant is produced to the requirements of ISO 9001.

Installation recommendations

KBS Panel Seal: After a new cable has been installed through a KBS Panel, seal the remaining cracks and holes with KBS Sealant. On new KBS Panel applications apply the KBS Sealant to areas that cannot be reached by brush or spray.

When installing KBS Sealant as a gas/ smoke seal, make sure all areas are free of oil and dust before application.
